  • Can I rent from Packsy if I am not a United States citizen or have an international drivers license?v
    Sure can! As long as you are above 21 years old, have a valid driver's license, and active insurance that meets the state’s minimums, Packsy makes travel easy for everyone!
  • Is there a mileage cap?
    300 miles per day are included in your rental. With our flagship Packsy branch being in Charleston, SC, we recommend using all the miles you can to visit Sullivans Island, Isle of Palms, Kiawah and any other beautiful lowcountry spots.
  • I’m a “young driver”. Can I rent from Packsy if I am under 25 years old?
    Yes! You can rent from Packsy if you are 21+ years old and have a valid driver's license and active insurance that meets the state’s minimums. There is an additional fee which helps cover the additional insurance we carry to make this possible.
  • What extras does Packsy offer?
    We offer car seats, beach gear, pack and play cribs, and stroller-wagons! As a woman, parent owned business, we understand how even these little extras make a world of difference. Here at Packsy we want to help make travel easier in any way we can! We all deserve a trip where we can travel Every Mile with a Smile
  • Is there a fee for adding an additional driver?
    Not at Packsy! You can add additional drivers free of charge. Additional Drivers are subject to the same rules as the primary driver (above 21 years old, have a valid driver's license, and active insurance that meets the state’s minimums).

  • How much will I be charged for a late change or cancellation?

  • How do I rent a car from Packsy?
    You can either book online at or on our App - Packsy. The Packsy app is available on Apple and Android App Stores. Because your trip start and end will be contactless (whoohoo no Rental Counter line!), you will need to download the Packsy app at some point prior to your trip to allow you to complete checkin and checkout.

  • What is your pet policy?
    Here at Packsy we know that pets are family, and they should get vacations too! There is no extra fee for your furry family to join your trip, but heavy shedders or pets with the tendency to chew may receive extra cleaning or damage charges after the trip. Use your best judgment!
  • What if my arriving flight is delayed?
    We are completely contactless here at Packsy! We will always appreciate a heads up on flight changes, but we guarantee your rental will be available at the airport, parked and ready with all your vacation gear if you arrive late or not!
  • What if I need to extend my rental?
    If your rental has already started, update your trip end time ASAP. We can almost always accommodate extensions, but can not guarantee it.
  • Do you accept Cash, Check, or Debit Card?
    All deposits and payments must be made with a valid Credit Card that is in the Renter’s name.
  • What should I do if my rental car breaks down, I get a flat tire, get locked out, have a dead battery?
    Knock on wood, we hope this isn’t an issue. We provide an emergency roadside kit in the trunk of all our vehicles that among other things contains jumper cables and an air compressor. You will also be provided the contact for our Roadside Assistance at the start of your trip. Roadside Assistance can provide tows, flat tire assistance, battery service, fuel/water delivery service, winching, and locksmith service.
  • What should I do if I get in an accident in a Packsy rental vehicle?
    We hope this doesn’t happen to any of our renters but hey, $hit happens. Call 911 if anyone is injured then immediately fill out the provided incident report card. This card will prompt you to gather critical information on the incident and others involved. You will find your incident report card within the lockbox you use to gain access to your vehicle upon your arrival. You can then contact Roadside Assistance, which will be provided at the start of your trip.
  • Do you offer any promotions or discounts?
    Packsy is all about upfront affordable pricing to begin with, so promos and discounts are rare (but not unheard of). I’d suggest following our fleet on your choice of social media @drivepacksy
  • Can I earn rewards booking with Packsy?
    For now, no, but maybe soon!
  • Can I book Packsy for one-way trips?
    Kinda. As we are a small locally-owned company, we can not offer one-way rentals to anywhere outside of the greater Charleston area, but you CAN, for example, start your Packsy rental from your vacation rental and end it at Charleston International Airport, or start your Packsy rental from our vehicle lot and end it at your house. Cool, right?
  • What insurance protection does Packsy offer?
    State minimum liability and uninsured motorist insurance is INCLUDED in your rental and is provided in excess to any personal auto or collectible insurance.
  • Is personal auto insurance required when renting with Packsy?
    It is. You’ll need to provide proof of active personal auto insurance that meets the state’s minimum requirements at the time of rental.
  • How much is the rental insurance?
    State minimum liability and uninsured motorist insurance is INCLUDED in your rental and is provided in excess to any personal auto or collectible insurance.
  • What if I get a ticket in a Packsy rental?
    First of all, bummer. Second, tickets will be charged to the credit card used at booking as they are received.
  • Can I use toll lanes when driving my Packsy rental?
    If you have a toll transponder, you can use it in your Packsy rental. If not, tolls will be charged to the credit card used at booking as they are received.
  • Does Packsy have a lost and found?
    We always make our best effort to reunite stuff with its owner. We hold on to items found in vehicles during cleaning for approximately 2 weeks after the end of your trip, so email our team hello@drivepacksy if you discover you left something!
  • How can I get a copy of my receipt?
    You should receive a copy automatically to the email address attached to your reservation or be able to get a copy by logging into your account (through the website or app). If you’re still having trouble, shoot our team an email
  • Does Packsy offer reimbursement for airport parking charges?

  • Does Packsy require a deposit?
    2 charges will be held prior to your final bill: 1. At the time of making your Reservation an authorization of $200 will be placed on the credit card. This will be refunded at the start of your Rental. 2. A refundable deposit of $500 will be placed on your credit card and all or a portion will be retained to cover additional cleaning or fees at the end of your trip.
  • Does Packsy offer long-term rentals?
    Ya, kinda. To comply with our insurance, each rental period must be 30 days or less, but are happy to set up consecutive rental periods under new rental contracts.
  • Can I use my Packsy rental for service or shared rides (Uber/Lyft/DoorDash/etc)?
    No. Nope. Don’t. Seriously. A condition of our insurance is that our vehicles can not be used for these purposes.
  • Can I get my Packsy rental delivered to the airport?
    Yes, we deliver to Charleston International Airport and Mount Pleasant Regional Airport !
  • Can I get my Packsy rental delivered to the Amtrak or Greyhound Station?
    Yes, we deliver to the North Charleston Transit Center.
  • Can I get my Packsy rental delivered to a local address (like my hotel, vacation rental, or work)?
    Yes! We can deliver to any local address!
  • What surprise taxes and fees can I expect added to my final bill?
    Like none. We pride ourselves on upfront pricing and having almost all taxes and fees are included in our base price. Add-ons like car seats, strollers, and beach gear will be extra on top of the base price, but that makes sense? We won’t even try to sell you extra insurance at the last second. Now, to be transparent, if we need to refuel or if you’re dog eats the seatbelt then barfs it all over the carpet, you’ll get an extra charge, but that only seems fair?
  • Does Packsy accommodate handicapped drivers?
    The ADA requires that vehicle rental companies make reasonable accommodations to permit persons with disabilities to drive rental vehicles. It’s also the right thing to do. Hand controls can be provided for any vehicle, we will just need advanced notice a copy of your drivers license that includes a hand control restriction.
